Took my, almost, 3 year old to the 1:1 try out classes and want to recognize the amazing experience we had with Coach Maynard. From the moment we walked in he got down to greet Kal, prep him, and guide him through the experience. I appreciate the enthusiasm and ability to put himself at my son's level. He kept my son engaged, encouraged, & challenged all in two mini sessions. I can't wait to have my son continue with the little ninjas program!

Coach Spyand Garcia are both knowledgeable and work well with the kids not only teaching them martial arts but teaching them a few life lessons along the way would highly recommend them to anyone

I joined a month ago and LOVE it! It is fast paced, but all the students, Coach Garcia and Coach Spyhalski are really supportive and want everyone to succeed, making it a really fun and positive environment. I would highly recommend Cosens for both kids and adults!

A facility that focuses on the group while still recognizing the individual, teaching souls of all ages discipline and life skills with grace, ease, support, care, and laughter. My son has now been attending for a couple of months. This staff demonstrates a perfectly balanced approach at leading a group while also fluidly providing individual mentorship, for ultimate personal development and growth. They have taught my son techniques in self care and maintenance to maintain optimum performance, and have also displayed empathy in working with me financially to ensure my son can continue his training. My son attends martial arts here. The coaches are amazing and supportive. Coach Spy is always very helpful when i have questions or concerns. My son always looks forward to coming to class. It has helped him build his self confidence in and out of the classroom and teach him valuable life skills beyond self defense.

Cosens Martial Arts is a great path to follow if you’re a beginner like myself, my first two days of one on one training with coach Garcia showed me the untapped potential that I didn’t know I had. I knew it was always there but coach Garcia fleshed it out with his great leadership, patience, positivity and self confidence. Those attributes is what makes a great coach, which drove me to join the program without hesitation. I would 100% recommend to family and friends!

I brought my daughter in for the 2 for 2 class and we have had the most amazing experience with Coach Garcia and Coach Spy! Truly am so happy to see the success my daughter will have here.

I go to the Cosens in Saginaw, and I love this place so much! I’m in the adult black belt program, and I leave every time feeling so good. The vibes in there are immaculate—everyone is so nice, and there’s honestly no judgment. The coaches respect all different backgrounds of martial arts, and they always have a positive attitude. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I signed my grandson up about 3-4 weeks ago. Since he's been in these classes his focus has gotten better, he listens better (not that I had an issue with that before), but he's doing so much better overall. I can see him building the confidence in himself to do the things in life that he chooses to do. As for the staff at Cosens, they're great! They make class fun while learning. I would highly recommend them if this is something you're looking to do.

Great place to build confidence and self defense for kids!

This is an amazing place. My Great Granddaughter, Freya Pastula, has been training under Coach Spy for 3 years and just earned her junior black belt. She has learned so much in addition to self protection, humility, dedication and respect; she will be continuing her training for the next level black belt. This is so important, given the state of our country during these trying times. Our children need to be able to defend themselves and know who to trust and not to trust. Coach Spy goes over all of the above with every class and, if one of his students is having a hard time they know they can go to him and he will work with them. He does NOT support bullying from, or to, any of his students!!

My Granddaughter Freya has been in this program for 3 years. She earned her Jr. Blackbelt in that time, and has chosen to continue on to get her solid Blackbelt. Coach Spy and Coach Garcia are the best coaches. They do not just hand out belts and awards, they must be earned. I respect that because it teaches accountability. Her confidence has soared, she's made good friends and she adores her coaches. She has really become very confident and sure of herself, and this class has been nothing but great for her. Im so excited to see what the next 3 years holds for her.

I'd like to express how wonderful the coaches are at Cosens. My daughter has been doing karate for almost two years and thoroughly enjoys it. She has gained confidence and has become much more outgoing. Thank you Cosens.

My granddaughters have been training under Coach Spy for a year now and I think he’s absolutely amazing! He really takes great care of the kids and it’s appreciated. We also can’t forget about Coach Garcia that does an amazing job with them as well thank you both!

Coaching staff is great! Very beneficial environment for kids looking to make friends and build core fundamental values for life.

My son has been in the Children’s Martial Arts for a few years now and has learned so much from Coach Spy. Besides learning how to protect himself & others, he has learned and improved upon valuable life skills such as respect/self-respect, self-confidence, honesty, focus, etc. We look forward to seeing how the Teen classes are when he is ready to transition. I would recommend Cosens Martial Arts to any parent who wants to build up their kids confidence & focus.

Great place to train

Great program and great coaches! Coach Spy is awesome with kids! My son has been going there for a while now and this is the first thing he has shown interest in with a long term commitment. He recently joined the teen class and I am amazed by his dedication to learning and doing well in this class!

Great place for all ages!

Going to Cosens has been, hands down, one of the best decisions I’ve made. Both of my coaches are so amazing and have wonderful attitudes towards each and every student. Since I have started taking classes here, I have found myself able to be more relaxed mentally and physically. It has helped me step away from my self destructive tendencies, and focus in on self improvement. It’s a wonderful workout for your body and mind, and it has personally helped me relieve stress and frustration in a positive manner. Self control, discipline, and awareness are just a few of the things I have been able to improve on since starting. If you have even the slightest interest in trying this out, give it a shot!

They were so excellent at providing direction, prompts and meeting her at her level. Thanks again for this special instruction.

Coaches Spyhalski, Gator, & Garcia are fabulous. My son started at age 11 in the older children’s class and transitioned to the teen/adult class. The instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. The children are taught positive values, martial arts skills, teamwork, & discipline. The teen/adult class is a welcoming environment. His classmates work together cohesively to learn. My son loves the environment and is gaining confidence. I highly recommend Cosens to children, teens, and adults.

My son has been attending for a year and he loves it! Coaches are amazing, helpful and great at teaching skills on and off the mat! 10/10 can’t recommend enough!!!
